The project "Bicycle Workshop in a Container" is an initiative by the Taking Hands Educational Centre in Omaruru, Namibia. Its aim is to provide students of the centre not only the opportunity to learn how to ride a bicycle but also to acquire skills in bicycle repair. This initiative aims to directly benefit the 120 children of the Centre, with long-term positive effects intended for the entire community. The project is located in Omaruru, a town in Namibia approximately 210 km north of the capital city, Windhoek.

For the project's implementation, two containers will be acquired and two cement surfaces will be laid down to serve as storage and workshop spaces. The total cost amounts to approximately 102,000 NAD (about €5,100). Of this amount, around 17,000 NAD (€850) will be provided through self-contribution. Conambiki e.V. is providing a funding amount of approximately 85,000 NAD (about €4,250) for the project.

This project was largely financed by proceeds from the Conamibiki tombola at the town festival in Bad Reichenhall on Saturday, 6 July 2024. Thank you for your participation! If you would like to support this and other projects, we welcome your donation.
